The conflict in Palestine has become one of the most complex and prolonged global issues. Most recently, tensions have increased significantly due to events involving Israeli air strikes in Gaza as well as a wave of protests in various parts of the world. This incident began when clashes occurred at the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, a holy place for Muslims and Christians. Tensions in the region, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, create a volatile atmosphere. The Hamas faction, which rules Gaza, responded by launching rockets into Israeli territory. This triggered intense counteroffensive from the Israeli Defense Forces, including bombings targeting strategic locations in Gaza. This series of attacks resulted in thousands of civilians being affected, with many losing their lives and sustaining injuries. In addition, important infrastructure in Gaza was also destroyed, worsening the already worrying humanitarian conditions. In the international context, this situation has provoked mixed reactions. Some countries called for an end to the violence and a return to the negotiating table, while others showed full support for Israel, considering the move to be a legitimate defense measure. The wave of demonstrations in major cities such as New York, London and Paris demonstrated solidarity with the Palestinian people, emphasizing the importance of human rights and social justice. The UN and other international organizations are also actively involved in finding solutions. The UN Secretary General urged both sides to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue to prevent further escalation. However, with tough stances from each side, the road to peace seems increasingly difficult. Meanwhile, the Oslo Agreement, which was once a hope for a peaceful settlement, is now increasingly far from reality. Political instability within Palestine, between Fatah and Hamas, also adds to the complexity of the situation. Delayed elections and internal strife only exacerbate an existing crisis. The issue of Palestinian refugees, Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and the status of Jerusalem remain flashpoints that fuel relations between the two parties. In addition, different historical narratives further worsen each other’s understanding. Social media also plays an important role in shaping public opinion. Widespread information is often biased in favor of either Israel or Palestine, creating a polarization in global views. In the future, a diplomatic approach is needed that is more integrated and involves all relevant parties, including regional and international actors. Sincere and honest dialogue, coupled with a commitment to respecting human rights, is the key to creating sustainable peace in Palestine. Meanwhile, the international community must continue to support efforts towards justice and reconciliation for all people involved in this conflict.
